9/11 Firefighters and Families, a group of Giuliani critics, have set out on a mission to expose Giuliani as a “false hero”, claiming that he is using the 9/11 tragedy as leverage in his presidential campaign, and building his reputation upwards on the image of a  the 9/11 hero, which they claim he is not. Jim Richie, a deputy New York fire chief and member of the group, stated that “Lives were lost because of the lack of preparation and (Giuliani’s) lack of leadership…All he did was run that day, and get on TV and provide a calming influence for the United States of America. And they made him a hero.” The group plans to travel between multiple states and campaign their message to voters.
