Ron PaulRemember when we mentioned that Ron Paul was being stonewalled for the New York ballot? Well we have good news: The latest campaign email reveals that he has been approved and will appear on the ballot for election day in New York. While investigating the original post, Politinks called up the New York Republican Committee asking about Ron Paul’s rejection for the ballot (’cuz that’s what we do), mentioning that we were to report on it, and the woman on the phone seemed a bit worried. A few hours later, we received an email from Ron Paul 2008 alerting us of the sudden change of events, and mentioning that an accumulation of signatures was no longer necessary to get Ron Paul on the ballot. Here’s the email:

November 16, 2007

We are pleased to announce that just minutes ago, our attorney received a letter from the New York State Board of Elections informing us that Ron Paul will be on the ballot in New York!

If you’ve been braving the cold to get signatures to place Dr. Paul’s name on the ballot in New York, you can stop. No more signatures are necessary.

Thank you for being a part of our back-up plan for ballot access in your state. Your hard work and dedication makes this campaign possible.

You never cease to amaze us!

For Freedom,

Ron Paul 2008 Presidential Campaign Committee

We can’t say for sure whether or not Politinks had an impact on this decision, but it does make us feel good.
